Should smoking be banned? essay

I would like to begin with that fact that there are a lot of people all over the world and some of them like to smoke. In my opinion for some people this smoking habit has become fashionable. I think smoking should be banned in public places by the reason of second hand smoking and allergic cough and even chronicle illness. A cigarette contains about 4000 chemicals, most of which are poisonous, such as nicotine, carbon monoxide, etc. There are a lot of people all over the world who suffers from smoking. When you smoke, these deadly chemicals are mixed with your blood through your lungs, and then cause harms to all your body

such as your brain, muscles, lungs, etc. If you are a smoker, you will be more likely than others to get sick and diseases such as pneumonia and cancer, and you will be easy to lose control and anger since poisonous chemicals destroy your brain. In fact smoke that appears when a person smokes a cigarette is very hazardous for people which stand near the smoker. The second hand smoking is very harmful. Moreover it is not right when someone who has never smoked is given nicotine too. Another reason why smoking should be banned in public places is children. Adults can evoke bad behavior of the children as

well as the teenagers. As far as I know, the children are likely to imitate the behaviors and actions of their parents and adults around them; therefore, if people around children smoke so frequently, the children will consider smoking to be no bad and imitate soon. Similarly, seeing adults smoke so frequently, teenagers will consider smoking to be fashionable and soon try smoking. In some way the cigarette smoke pollute air of the earth. For a good and healthy generation, ban on smoking in public places and office building is also necessary. If there is a ban then chain smokers cannot smoke and they will be safe.

A lady who is pregnant and has the habit of smoking then a ban can be helpful for her child’s health. It is very important for the baby. There are also chronicle diseases such as asthma and carcinoma of lungs which may appear after smoking. For this reason I think that smoking should be banned in all public places. The good example where smoking is banned is Singapore. There are special rooms for smokers in companies and restaurants. There is also a positive site of smoking. First smoking helps many people to relax. Second for some smoking improves concentration. Third many people like to smoke before

exams or when they are relaxing with friends. The smell of cigarette provides money to build schools, hospitals and other public buildings. Also tobacco industry gives jobs in poor countries. Without tobacco industry these people would have no jobs. I would also argue that people should have the right to choose to smoke or not. Governments spend millions of dollars to cure a lot of people in the hospitals with diseases caused by smoking. My personal opinion is if smoking were banned completely people would find another ways to relax. Drugs and alcohol would be new bad options for relaxation.

Sometimes people can also save their money with the help of ban on smoking. People can use this money in other works. For instances, if people save money then they donate or eat healthy food. People who are allergic to smoke do not like smoking in offices and public places. These people do not feel good if any one smokes. As a good person, smokers’ should be careful and give the preference for others convenience. People can also increase their business if smoking is bane in public places and office buildings. For example, people who are chain smokers and have the habit of smoking during work that decrease their work skills and earning.

The customers who do not like smoking do not like to come. Therefore, the ban can be beneficial if it increases the business. In conclusion, secondhand smoke can be very harmful, smoking is unhealthy, and smoking is very addictive. Sometimes they work and people never smoke again. When you smoke there is a greater chance of lung cancer and heart attacks. Each cigarette you smoke, you shorten your life by 14 minutes. Every year, more then 400,000 deaths are caused from smoking. I advise you never to start smoking because once you start, your probably not going to stop.
