Success is basically defined as the fulfillment of a desire or the attainment of a goal. However, every person has his or her own definition of success. For some people, success may signify the material things he or she possesses. For others, success is the time when they are able to live everyday of their lives happily. For other people, success may simply come from being fulfilled after helping those in need. In addition, success may also be measurable or immeasurable.
For certain people, their success could be measured by the amount of money they have earned, while for others, their success simply comes from the joy of marriage and therefore cannot me measured. The fact that there are numerous definitions of success means that as a person grows old and experiences a lot of things, his or her definition of success may change. Therefore, for a person to be truly successful, it is important for him or her to specifically know what he or she really wants set goals, and work to achieve those goals.
Moreover, while it is true that every person has his or her own definition of success, it is also true that the success of a person does not necessarily depend on his or her amount of wealth, social status, or number of accomplishments but rather on his or her over-all growth. In reality, there are a lot of people who are very rich but are not happy and in contrast, there are also people who are happy but not rich.
The main difference between the two is that one is contented and one simply wants more. In this connection, it can be said that success also comes from the things that make a person happy. People who value and are thankful for what they have, no matter how small they are, are generally the ones who are successful. Over-all, a truly successful person is someone who knows what he or she wants and how to get it, and someone who values what he or she has and is contended with his or her life.
