Juvenilesand Societal Reactions
Juvenilesand Societal Reactions
Juvenilesrefer to children who have not yet attained the maturity age.Children engage in a number of socialization procedures. Thesocialization procedures can either be at home or within schoolinstitutions. This makes children get exposed to a number of badbehaviours. On the other hand, delinquency refers to minor crimes, most likely those committed by the young people. Therefore it callsfor a great concern by the adults to guard the children in the betsway possible (Keshner,2012).The right guidance facilitates the correction of their delinquentbehaviours. The objective of this paper is to make an analysis of theway in which delinquency starts from socialization, interactions, institutions and societal practices.
Socialization
Aschildren interact with one another, they tend to copy the behavioursof their peers. This results from the different play activities thatdetermine the right socialization procedures in neighbourhoods(Branch,2012).The copying of delinquency is determined by the need to liveharmoniously within the playgrounds. For example a young child whosees the friend stealing small items like pens may decide to do thesame in future. The driving factor in this case is the desire to belike the rest of the friends within a group. Hence it calls for theindulgence of the adults in correcting the situation.
Peopleinteractions
Childrenwithin their neighbourhoods engage with adults in the daily aspectsof a communal living. Most of the adults socializing with the youngones are relatives. Most of these adults may not be mortally upright. They have a number of challenges that may make them engage in crimes(Harrikari,2015).Examples in this case may be excessive insults. The young ones aroundthem will find it right to do just like the adults. The children willstart insults that they may not understand the right limits as partof the socialization dimensions.
Institutions
Withinschools, children have a free time during breaks. They interact withpeers as part of the learning process. Also during games in theevening, they carry out a number of interaction activities. In theseactivities, they participate as a group in order to defeat theiropponents. During such socialization procedures, they may find theirfriends engaging in delinquency behaviours (Keshner,2012).The innocent ones may decide to carry out the same delinquency athome or in the society. Such delinquency behaviour will have beenlearned from a school institution. Such behaviours are difficult torectify as part of the learning process(Harrikari,2015).
Societalpractices
Withinthe community, there exist a number of dimensions that people carryout. These practices are part of the normal society perspectives.Such activities may relate to the celebration parties. When the youngchildren are invited to celebrations, they will watch what the adultsare doing and do the same in future (Branch,2012).Delinquency in this case may be in the form of touching members ofthe opposite sex inappropriately. The young ones will try the samedelinquency in future.
Conclusion
Delinquencystarts from socialization, interactions, institutions and societalpractices. Parents and guardians are expected to guide the childrenin the right to avoid the worst manifestation of delinquencybehaviours. They are required to have a proper check to ensure thatsocial interactions do not result in negative attributes.
